FPL GW 8 Recap

Let’s talk about Gameweek 8 finally coming along after the international break—and let’s be honest, it was a bit of a letdown. The average FPL score was a measly 36 points, though the FPL Pro Leagues did slightly better (okay, we're clutching at straws here since our average was only 0.5 higher, but still!).

Manager of the Month

Week 8 saw the crowning of the 2nd Manager of the Month award—congratulations to our man in Canada JoelintonTravlTavern for a superb 252 points over the past 4 game weeks. The Manager of the Month title was hotly contested, with JoelintonTravlTavern and Jürgen Slot Right In both scoring an impressive 252 points. The tiebreaker came down to the team with the highest in-week score throughout the month, and JoelintonTravlTavern took the prize.

Special mentions also go to the teams that performed well this month that sees them all sitting pretty at the top end of the table:

League of Champions Update

Week 8 also featured the next group game of the League of Champions. Congrats to all of you that got some points on the board! There were loads of close games due to the low-scoring Gameweek, with a couple of draws decided by a random coin toss generator. Tough luck to those who came close but didn't quite make it!

Team of the Week

Team of the Week honors are shared this time between Jurgen Slot Right In and Krul & The Gang, both scoring an impressive 57 points in what was, quite frankly, a diabolical Gameweek. Although Jurgen Slot Right In with his Salah capo decision slightly edges it as his impressive score helped him tie for the Manager of the Month Award:

Play of the Week

Play of the Week is tough to call—so I'm not going to! We were all equally mediocre at best.

In other news, Stew is still shit, so at least there's some stability there!

Shit Stick Award

The Shit Stick award this week goes to all of us who kept Haaland as our captain, only for him to blank in three consecutive Gameweeks.

It's a tough pill to swallow, after that sensational goal last night but, if his form in the Prem continues, it could make the league and captain choices a lot more exciting! Ah, those good old days when picking someone other than Haaland or Salah wasn’t considered a huge differential!

A special mention does go to Stevros County. Despite scoring better than most of us, he left a whopping 21 points on the bench!

Looking Ahead to GW9
No additional competitions are taking place in GW9, so sit back, relax, and hold on to those transfers (unless you’ve got the likes of Cucurella in your team!). award this week goes to all of us who kept Haaland as our
