FPL Week 7 Recap: Triple Captains, Shocking Subs, and the Shit Stick Award
Apologies for the late update this week—the day job took priority, and I’ve been playing catch-up ever since!
FPL Week 7 Highlights
FPL Week 7 brought us the next round of the League Cup. Congratulations to those who made it through, and commiserations to Hasbulla Army, who were knocked out by just a single point to Mitchell FC.
Play of the Week
Fair play to CK Gunners for storming in with a huge 87 points, leaping up the table—you needed that, mate! CK Gunners also takes the play of the week for having the audacity to triple captain Kai Havertz, which paid off with a goal and bonus points. Differential wins just hit different, don't they? Well played, sir!
Special mentions to Jurgen Slots, DropitlikeitsSlot, and Basement Battle for an excellent captain pick with Saka this week, especially when nearly 60% of us stuck with the tried-and-tested Norwegian.
Shit Stick Contenders
On the other end of the spectrum, Shit Stick contenders this week include Lulu's 11 for captaining Mateta, which rewarded you with a grand total of 2 points. HaCunha Matata also struggled, with a painfully low 25 total points and a big red arrow. However, the Shit Stick award has to go to 1syde in his debut FPL season—a tough lesson learned! Despite a respectable 56 points, our man made 18 (yes, 18!) substitutions, costing a total of 68 points and resulting in a net loss of -12 for the week. That leaves him trailing at the bottom, even making Stew look good! You’ve got to hit that wildcard button, mate!
That's it from me for this week. Unfortunately, we've got the international break now, but we'll be back in GW8 with the next group game in the League of Champions!
May your international break be peaceful, and your arrows forever green.
Cheers,
Gregg, Stew, and Bino
