Gameweek 16 Fantasy Premier League Recap
Gameweek 16 brought plenty of excitement for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, with standout performances, missed opportunities, and the much-anticipated League Cup Final. Let's take a look at how it all unfolded!
Top Scorer of the Week
Brother Err-ling takes the top spot this week with an impressive 88 points! This impressive score moves him into the top 5 in the league – well done mate, long may it continue!
Top FPL Players of the Week
The standout players for Gameweek 16 were:
- Sarr (17 points)
- Hall (15 points)
- Maddison (15 points)
- Son (14 points)
Surprisingly, none of these players were captained by anyone! The best captaincy call of the week came from three Fantasy Premier League managers who chose Isak, earning them a solid 22 points.
Player Highlights:
- Only one team had Maddison in their lineup (BigBurtsBusted).
- Hall was the more popular pick, featuring in 23 teams.
Captain Disappointment
A rough week for captains as Salah and Palmer left around 95% of FPL managers disappointed with their low-scoring performances. The vast majority of managers placed the armband on one of these two, only to see them fail to deliver.
Shit Stick Award
Unfortunately, not everyone had a week to remember:
- Gav Beardon GNB used his Triple Captain chip on Salah, only for it to result in a modest 15 points.
However, the Shit Stick Award this week goes to… Under my Cucurella who left a whopping 35 points on the bench, including Hall (15), Mbeumo (9), and Mykolenko (7). That one's going to sting for a while!
League Cup Final
This Gameweek also sees the final of the League Cup! Best of luck to the two finalists, Are You Shaw and I’m Sorry Nic Jackson. With both teams struggling mid-table and only 3 points between them in the league, it's going to be exciting to see how this one plays out.
Looking Ahead to Gameweek 17
That's it for Gameweek 16! As the race for FPL glory continues, make sure to analyze player form, fixture difficulty, and potential captaincy picks to get the edge in your mini-leagues and then throw your phone against a wall as you see your Captained benced, your vice captain sent off and the players on your bench score a hatrick each!
